5050 Aluminum Extrusion Profile Overview
The 5050 aluminum extrusion profile is a square aluminium section with open T-slots running along each face. The 50x50 mm form gives the profile a sturdy body, while the open slots make it easy to fix brackets, nuts and connectors at almost any point along the length. Profiles of this type are used to build workbenches, machine guards, shelving, display frames and other modular structures that may need to be changed or extended over time.
T-slot Geometry and Assembly
Each open T-slot accepts a nut that can slide along the channel and be locked at the required position. This lets frames be assembled with brackets and connectors instead of welding, and it allows panels, feet, castors and other fittings to be added later. The profile can be cut to length and drilled or tapped where a fixing point is needed, which supports accurate and repeatable assembly.
