This square T-slot aluminium profile is an extruded section built around a modular slot system. Its cross section carries eight open T-slots, so standard T-nuts, brackets, connector plates and fasteners can be positioned and tightened along the faces of the profile. Because the slots are open, parts can be slid in from the end of the profile or dropped in from the side before they are secured.
The profile is supplied with an anodized surface treatment. Anodizing forms a protective oxide layer on the aluminium, giving the extrusion a uniform, slightly matte appearance that is easy to clean and that helps the surface stand up to ordinary handling and normal indoor conditions. The finish also keeps the look of the profile consistent from piece to piece.
A modular slot system
Open slots on the outer faces mean that frames can be assembled, adjusted and taken apart again with hand tools. Nuts and connector plates sit inside the slot and are tightened in position, so joints can be loosened and moved without drilling new holes in the profile. With slots on several faces, there are more places to mount brackets, panels, feet, handles and accessories than on a profile that carries slots on fewer sides.

It helps to keep the slots aligned from piece to piece when a frame is laid out, so that brackets and panels line up cleanly at the corners.
