Aluminium Micro Channel Tube in 6000 and 7000 Series

This aluminium micro channel tube is made from alloy aluminium and is available in the 6000 and 7000 series, two families chosen where light weight, strength and durability have to work together. Tube can also be supplied in the 1000, 2000 and 3000 series. Every length is extruded, so the tube runs hollow with a uniform wall thickness and a consistent cross section.

Alloy and Material

The material is alloy aluminium with a purity of around 98.8%. The alloying elements give the tube the mechanical properties needed for structural and load-bearing work. The 6000 and 7000 series grades are the most common choices for poles, frames and industrial components. The 6000 series is preferred where a good surface finish and moderate strength are needed, while the 7000 series is selected for higher strength work such as heavy-duty frames and stressed components, and it offers long service life where stiffness matters.

Shapes, Sizes and Temper

Tube is available in round, oval and square shapes. Wall thickness ranges from a thin wall of 0.3 mm up to a heavy wall of 50 mm, and temper can be supplied from T3 through to T8. Tensile strength is typically 160 to 205 MPa, with a dimensional tolerance of approximately ±10%. Round is the standard profile for tent poles and telescopic tubes, oval suits a flatter appearance, and square suits frames and decorative structures.

Surface Finish and Colour

Several surface treatments are available. Mill finish leaves the natural extruded surface, anodized finishes build a hard oxide layer in silver, bronze, champagne, black or golden tones, polished finishes give a bright reflective appearance, and powder coated finishes provide a coloured, even coating.

Applications

The tube is used for tent poles and tarp poles, telescopic and folding poles, camping and outdoor frames, decorative and architectural profiles, and industrial tubing such as radiators and water pipe systems. It is also used in transport, electrical appliance, agricultural and household applications. Outdoor users choose aluminium for its light weight and for the way it holds up to weathering, which keeps long assemblies easy to handle on site.

Working, Quality and Origin

The tube can be bent, punched and cut into finished frames, telescopic assemblies and shaped pipelines, and is supplied in straight lengths or in coils. It is produced in Jiangsu, China, by an extrusion route that starts from heated billet and finishes with straightening and cutting to length, with wall thickness, straightness and surface condition checked before despatch.
