This 6060 aluminum square tube is a hot-extruded aluminium profile supplied in square section for curtain wall and building facade construction. It is formed from 6060 aluminium alloy, a medium-strength heat-treatable alloy with good extrudability and a smooth finish for architectural framing. The anodized layer grows from the base metal itself, so the tube keeps a uniform metallic appearance while gaining a protective oxide film.
6060 alloy belongs to the 6xxx series and is alloyed with magnesium and silicon. In the T5 or T6 temper the extruded tube offers a practical balance of strength, hardness and formability for architectural and light structural work. The alloy anodizes well, producing a clear or coloured oxide layer that resists weathering and everyday corrosion. Because the film is integral to the surface rather than a coating on top, it does not flake or peel as painted finishes can.
The tube is supplied with uniform wall thickness and clean, straight edges, which simplifies mitre cutting and assembly on site. Standard finishes include natural, black and other coloured anodized options, with mill finish available where a raw aluminium look is wanted. Wall thickness, side length and cut length are specified per project, so buyers should confirm the exact section and finish before ordering.
The tube can be cut, drilled, tapped and welded with common fabrication methods. Anodized surfaces should be protected during machining to avoid scratching, and welded areas are usually re-finished locally because the anodized layer is removed by welding heat. For load-bearing designs, engineers should confirm alloy, temper, wall thickness and span against local building standards.
Tubes are checked for straightness, section tolerance and surface quality before dispatch, then bundled and protected for container shipment. End caps or interleaving are available on request.
Please confirm alloy and temper, section size, wall thickness, finish and cut length when requesting a quotation. Custom lengths and extra machining can be discussed against the drawing. Price, MOQ and lead time are quoted per project.
