6063 Aluminum Extrusion Profiles for Window, Door and Decorative Frames
This aluminum extrusion profile is produced in 6063 alloy from the 6000 series and is used mainly for window and door frames and for decorative trim. The section is extruded to the shape the frame requires and is then finished by powder coating, so the length arrives ready to cut and fit without further surface work on site.
6063 is the standard alloy for architectural and decorative extrusions. It takes a clean anodized or painted finish, it extrudes into thin walls without cracking, and it holds a straight line well. Tempers from T3 to T8 are available, with T5 the usual choice for architectural profiles, and the alloy is delivered as an alloyed rather than a pure metal section. The material is 6063 aluminum alloy, matching the 6000 series grade used for window and door work.
Profiles are supplied as square sections in a custom size, and the length is cut to the customer requirement rather than taken from a fixed stock length. A tolerance of about 1% applies to the section, which is tighter than the allowance usual on many tube products and matters where profiles have to line up along a window or door frame. Because the profile is made to order, the wall and the overall size can be set from the drawing for each job.
The standard finish is powder coating, applied as a cured paint film over the extruded metal. Powder coating gives an even, opaque colour and is normally supplied in silver or black, with other colours available to match a scheme. The coating covers the whole visible face of the profile and protects the aluminium from scuffing and from the weathering that affects frames exposed on the outside of a building.
Secondary work can include cutting, punching, bending, decoiling and welding, so a profile can be delivered as a plain length or as a part that is already drilled and formed for assembly. Customized logo, packaging and graphic options are available for buyers who need the profiles branded, banded or boxed for their own stock, and short runs and repeat orders are both handled against the agreed drawing.
Typical uses are window and door frames, shopfront and partition sections, and decorative trim and edging where a neat metal finish is wanted. Production follows an ISO9001 quality system, and profiles are checked for section size, straightness, length and the condition of the powder coating before dispatch. Buyers confirm the alloy, temper, section, length, colour and finish so that the delivered order matches the sample or drawing.
