Anodized 7001 T6 Aluminum Tent Poles for Camping Tents and Tarps

These aluminum tent poles are produced from 7001 T6 alloy in welded or seamless round sections and are supplied in custom lengths for camping tents, tarps and beach umbrellas. They are the folding type of pole used to build a tent frame, so each section is cut to the length the frame requires and the ends are finished to take ferrules and an internal shock cord. Because the frame is one of the lightest parts of a tent, keeping the pole wall thin while holding strength is the main design aim.

The poles use 6000 and 7000 series aluminium, and the 7001 T6 temper gives a high strength-to-weight ratio, which is what allows a thin round section to carry the bending loads of a pitched tent. Hardness is around HV400 and the aluminium content is at least 98.8%, so the pole flexes under wind and fabric tension and springs back to shape instead of taking a permanent set.

Wall thickness runs from 0.7mm to 3.0mm and the round section is held to a tolerance of about 10%, which keeps the poles concentric with the ferrules and caps they join to. Lengths are made to order rather than cut from a fixed stock length, so a tent maker can specify the section layout of a folding set and receive the poles already cut to suit it.

Finish is anodized, applied as an oxide layer built into the surface rather than a painted coating. Colours include golden, natural, silver, bronze, champagne, red and grey-black, and the finish can be matched to the fabric or trim of a tent model. Anodizing also protects the surface against scuffing and against the corrosion that follows damp storage or wet camping use.

Sections are produced by extrusion or drawing and can be rolled, cut, punched, bent, decoiled and welded as required, so a pole can be delivered straight or pre-bent for a specific frame. Buyers can specify the alloy, temper, diameter, wall, length, colour and bend, and the poles are made to the agreed drawing or sample.

Typical uses include camping and hiking tents, dome and tunnel tent frames, tarp and awning supports, beach umbrellas, and replacement pole sets for existing tents. Poles are checked for diameter, straightness, wall thickness and the condition of the anodized finish before dispatch. The tubes meet common standards such as ASTM, JIS, GB/T and ISO, and production follows an ISO9001:2015 quality system.

Both welded and seamless tubes are available, and the poles can be supplied as individual sections or as complete folding sets ready for assembly.
