This latching cable raceway is extruded from aluminum and forms a closed channel for routing electrical and data cabling along walls, frames and machine surfaces. A U-shaped base pairs with a snap-on cover, so conductors stay enclosed yet remain easy to reach when a circuit is added or inspected.
The body is produced by hot extrusion, pressing heated aluminum billet through a shaped die to form a continuous profile with uniform wall thickness. The one-piece section has no longitudinal weld along the channel floor. Aluminum is chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio, which matters on lightweight frames and suspended ceilings.
The cover engages the base along a continuous lip and is pressed down until the halves seat. No separate fasteners are needed along the run, which speeds installation and removes the risk of loose screws dropping into a machine cavity. A flat blade inserted at the seam lifts the latch.
Channels are offered in a range of widths and heights so a chosen cable bundle fits without pinching. The internal cross-section must clear the largest connector on the run, not just the cable diameter, and a fill allowance near forty percent leaves room for later additions. Lengths cut on site should have the cut end deburred so insulation is not nicked while pulling.
The profile suits cabling that must be contained but still reachable:
Support spacing should be set so the channel does not sag between fixings, and direction changes are handled with corner pieces or mitred cuts. Because aluminum conducts, the channel should not serve as an earthing conductor unless a qualified person confirms continuity and bonding for that installation.
Sections are checked for straightness, wall thickness and latch fit before packing. Each run is assembled dry to confirm the cover seats along its whole length.
Confirm profile width, height, wall thickness, length, surface finish and quantity when enquiring, plus any corner or mounting accessory required.
