Wood Grain Aluminum Extrusion Profile for Doors, Windows and Walls
This wood grain aluminum extrusion profile combines the appearance of natural timber with the durability of an aluminum section. The base profile is extruded from 6063 aluminum alloy and finished with a powder coated wood grain transfer, so door frames, window casements and wall cladding panels keep a warm timber look without swelling, splitting or requiring periodic recoating.
The section is extruded to the customer drawing. Die design, alloy selection and the grain direction are agreed before production, so the finished profile matches the requested face width, wall thickness and visible edge detail.
Alloy and Temper
6063 aluminum alloy is the standard grade, offering moderate strength and good extrudability for architectural profiles. Tempers are offered in the T3 to T8 range, with T5 the most common for door and window sections. The temper is selected according to the structural duty, since a window mullion carrying glass load requires a higher strength than a decorative wall trim.
Wood Grain Finish
The wood grain effect is produced by applying a powder coating and then transferring a grain pattern onto the cured surface, which fixes the texture into the coating rather than simply printing it on top. This gives good resistance to scratching, fading and chalking outdoors. Grain patterns are available in a range of timber tones to suit doors, windows and interior wall panels.
Fabrication and Tolerance
Sections can be supplied mill length or further processed by bending, decoiling, welding, punching, drilling and cutting to size. Dimensional tolerance is held to about plus or minus one percent on wall thickness, and length tolerance is set by the cutting fixture and checked on a sample before the run. Finished profiles are inspected before packing.
Applications
Typical uses include residential and commercial door frames, window frames, glazing beads, curtain wall trim, wall cladding panels, furniture edging and decorative interior profiles. Buyers introducing a new section normally supply a drawing or sample so a die can be produced and a trial length approved.
Ordering and Delivery
Orders start from one kilogram upward, with larger tonnages quoted separately. Production lead time is generally twenty two to thirty days after drawing approval, depending on die availability and finishing. Customized logo, customized packaging and graphic customization are offered from five thousand sets. Quality is managed to ISO 9001 and shipment is normally by sea freight from Jiangsu, China.
