This aluminium extrusion profile is produced by pushing aluminium alloy through a shaped die and then finishing the extruded section with a wood grain surface. The result is a metal profile that carries the warm appearance of timber while keeping the dimensional stability, strength and low maintenance of aluminium. It is used mainly for window and door frames, curtain wall systems and decorative architectural trim, where a consistent section and a durable surface matter.
Material and Extrusion
The profile is formed from aluminium alloy billet that is heated and extruded through the die to the required cross-section. Wall thickness, chambers for thermal breaks, glazing slots and screw ports are all set by the die, so every length of profile matches the same section. After extrusion the profile is cooled, stretched and cut to length before it moves to surface treatment. Alloy grade, temper and section design can be adjusted to suit the drawing and the structural duty of the frame.
Wood Grain Surface Finish
The wood grain effect is applied after the extrusion and machining steps. Depending on the required look and service life, the profile can be treated by sublimation transfer, by powder coating with a wood grain powder, or by a combination of coating and transfer printing. The finish covers the visible faces and the edges, so the frame reads as a timber section from a normal viewing distance while remaining an aluminium extrusion underneath. Colour, grain pattern and gloss level can be matched to a sample.
