This extruded aluminium tee is produced from 6063 alloy in the T5 temper and supplied as a T-shaped section. It is used to join and stiffen tent frame members, trusses and general structural framing, where a straight, rigid edge makes it easy to bolt, bracket or weld adjacent components together. The section arrives in a straight mill finish and can be cut to the exact length required on site.
Material and Temper
The profile is made from 6063 aluminium alloy, the heat-treatable magnesium-silicon grade widely used for extruded architectural and industrial sections. It is artificially aged to the T5 temper, which gives the section useful strength while keeping it workable for cutting, drilling and assembly. 6063-T5 also offers a smooth extruded surface and good corrosion resistance in normal indoor and outdoor service.
T-Section Geometry
A tee profile concentrates material along two perpendicular legs, so it resists bending in two directions and stiffens a frame edge without adding much weight. The extruded form holds its cross-section accurately along the full length, so when several tees are cut to the same dimension they line up reliably during assembly. This makes the section a practical choice for ribs, rails and connection strips in modular structures.

Fabrication and Assembly
The tee can be cut to length, drilled, tapped and joined with standard aluminium brackets, bolts or rivets. Where a permanent joint is needed it can be welded using normal aluminium welding practice. Because aluminium forms a natural oxide layer, surfaces should be cleaned before welding or bonding to obtain a sound joint, and standard tooling for aluminium is adequate for cutting and drilling.
