7075 and 7001 Seamless Aluminum Tube
This is a customized seamless round aluminum tube made in 7075 and 7001 alloy, two of the strongest aluminium grades used in tube form. Seamless means the tube has no welded seam along its length, so the wall is one continuous piece of metal and the section is uniform all the way round. For parts that are machined, threaded, bent or loaded in service, that uniform wall and the strength of the alloy are what make the tube suitable.
Why 7075 and 7001
Both alloys are zinc based and heat treatable, which is why they reach strengths well above everyday extrusion grades.
- 7075 - a high strength aluminium alloy widely used for demanding structural and machined parts, where strength to weight ratio matters.
- 7001 - a very high strength alloy with excellent strength for its weight, used for precision and performance parts.

Seamless Construction
A seamless tube carries its load around a continuous wall with no seam line. There is no weld bead to interrupt the section or act as a weak point, the inside bore is smooth, and the outside can be machined or finished without the seam showing through. That makes seamless tube the natural choice for parts that are bored, honed or threaded, and for anything that must measure the same at every angle.
Customized Dimensions
Outside diameter, wall thickness and length are made to your specification. Tubes can be supplied cut to length, ready for machining, and where a job needs a specific roundness, straightness or wall concentricity, the requirement is confirmed before production so the tube is checked against it. Small changes in wall or diameter often solve a fit or weight problem.
Machining and Fabrication
The tube machines cleanly and can be cut, turned, milled, drilled, tapped and threaded, which is why the alloy is popular for precision parts. It can also be bent and formed where the wall and temper allow. Because 7075 and 7001 are harder than standard extrusion alloys, tooling and cutting speeds are chosen to suit, and the finished part holds its shape and its dimensions.
