Custom Heavy Duty Adjustable Telescopic Aluminum Tent Pole

This telescopic tent pole is a custom-made aluminium pole system whose sections slide inside one another so the pole extends and locks at the height you need. It is built as a heavy duty adjustable pole: the wall is thick enough to stay rigid under compression, and the joints are designed for repeated setting up and packing down. Diameter, wall, extended length, closed length and section count are all set by your project.

How the Telescoping Action Works

Two or more aluminium tubes are stepped in diameter, and each smaller section slides into the larger one below it. A locking mechanism holds the sections at the chosen height: an internal spring button that clicks into drilled holes, an external clamping collar, or a twist-lock ferrule. The lock is what makes the pole adjustable: the user sets the height, the lock takes the load, and the pole stays where it is put.

Heavy Duty Build

Heavy duty here means the pole is sized for real load. Larger outside diameters and thicker walls raise the buckling resistance of each section, which decides how tall a pole can be before it begins to bow. The bottom section carries the most load and is normally the strongest, while upper sections are stepped down to save weight at the top. Overlaps between sections are chosen so the pole stays straight in service.

Materials and Finish

Poles are produced in extrusion-grade aluminium, a light metal that resists corrosion and will not rust when it gets wet, an advantage for poles that live outdoors. Alloy and temper are matched to the load and to forming work such as bending, swaging and thread cutting. Finish can be left as mill aluminium or anodized in silver, black or colours, and anodizing hardens the surface against scuffs.
