This heavy duty aluminum telescopic pole is a custom-made extendable tube with a twist-locking joint. It is built for tent frame systems and adjustable supports, where a pole must slide to a working length and then hold that length firmly under load.

Twist-Locking Extendable Design

The pole is made from two or more nested aluminium tubes. Turning the outer sleeve releases the lock, so the inner tube can slide in or out; turning it back grips the inner tube and fixes the length in place. This gives a simple, tool-free adjustment with no loose pins to lose, and it allows one pole to cover a range of heights instead of being fixed at a single size. Because the lock is built into the pole itself, no separate clamps, bolts or tools are needed at the joint.

Material and Build

The tubes are produced from aluminium alloy, which keeps the pole light enough to carry and stiff enough to stay straight when it is extended. A heavy duty wall section is used where the pole has to carry a load or resist bending over a long span. Aluminium also resists corrosion in normal outdoor use, so the pole stays serviceable through the repeated wet and dry cycles of campsites and outdoor events. The surface can be left as a mill finish or anodised, depending on the appearance and wear resistance the application calls for.

Custom Sizing

Because the pole is made to order, the tube diameter, wall thickness, collapsed length and extended length can be set to match the frame it serves. The locking sleeve position and the end fittings can also be produced to suit the connection used on the tent or structure, so a custom pole set can be supplied as a complete, matched kit rather than a generic part. Where a set of poles is required, the parts are produced as a matched set so that the collapsed and extended lengths work together.

Handling and Care

The sliding surfaces should be kept clean and free of grit so that the twist lock grips reliably, and the tubes should be wiped dry before the pole is packed away. Extension should be stopped before the inner tube reaches its limit, so that the locking sleeve always has enough overlap to hold the joint firmly. Storing the pole fully collapsed protects the locking sleeve and keeps the tubes from being bent in transit.
