Product Overview

Customized extruded aluminum pipe in 6061 and 6063 alloy, formed as hollow square and rectangular tube. Both alloys are heat treatable, resist corrosion and take an anodized or powder coated finish cleanly, which suits tent frames, exhibition structures and load bearing framing. The hollow section keeps weight down while the closed geometry gives good stiffness in bending and torsion.

Alloy Selection

6063 is the usual extrusion alloy for frame and architectural profiles: it presses easily into complex shapes and produces a smooth anodized surface. 6061 carries more magnesium and silicon and reaches higher strength after artificial ageing, so it is chosen where the tube carries a heavier mechanical load or accepts machined and threaded features. Either alloy is available in T5 or T6 temper.

Profile Geometry

Square and rectangular hollow sections are extruded with uniform wall thickness and controlled corner radii. Wall thickness, outside dimensions, corner radius and length follow the drawing supplied with the enquiry, so the tube is made for an existing frame design rather than adapted on site. Straightness, twist and dimensional tolerance are checked against that drawing, and cut lengths are deburred before packing.

Surface Finish

The extruded surface can be left in mill finish or treated after extrusion. Anodizing builds a controlled oxide layer that protects the aluminium and gives a uniform colour; powder coating adds a thicker, more opaque film for colour matching.

Fabrication

Because the tubes are produced to drawing, secondary work can be completed before delivery: precision cutting to length, drilling and tapping mounting holes, notching or mitring ends for corner joints, punching connector slots and CNC machining of end details.

Quality Control
