These collapsible aluminium grow tent poles are made from aluminium tube that is cut to length, bent to the required angles and welded into a folding frame. Shock cord threaded through the tube keeps the sections together, so the pole set can be folded into a compact bundle for transport and opened again for use. The combination of a light tube section, strong welded joints and a folding structure suits grow tents, camping tents and hiking shelters that have to be carried and set up by hand.

Material and Tube Structure

The poles start as aluminium tube drawn or extruded to the required outside diameter and wall thickness. Tube diameter, wall thickness and alloy are chosen together with the frame geometry, so the assembled pole set carries the tent load without adding unnecessary weight. Sections may be straight or pre-bent, and the ends can be swaged, flattened or fitted with connectors so that one section slots into the next. Where the frame needs extra stiffness, thicker wall tube can be used on the main span and lighter tube on the secondary poles.

Bending and Welding Services

Bending is carried out to the drawing, with the bend radius and angle controlled so that the sections match the tent geometry. Welded joints are used at the corners, feet and bracket positions, and the weld is dressed so that it does not snag the fabric or the shock cord. Cutting, drilling, punching, threading and end forming can be included in the same process, and the finished poles can be supplied with shock cord, end caps, feet and sleeves fitted as required.
