Seamless Round Aluminum Tube In Four Alloy Grades
This seamless round aluminum tube is produced by hot extrusion and supplied in 2024, 5083, 7075 and 6082 alloy grades, so fabricators can source both high strength and corrosion resistant tubing from a single supply point. Because the tube is formed without a longitudinal weld, wall thickness stays uniform around the full circumference and the inside bore remains clean for later machining, threading, drilling or anodizing.
Alloy Selection Guide
- 2024 alloy, copper bearing, chosen for high tensile strength in machined structural parts and load bearing components.
- 5083 alloy, magnesium bearing, with good resistance to salt water and industrial atmospheres for marine and transport frames.
- 7075 alloy, zinc bearing, offering the highest strength of the four grades for shafts, poles and stressed inserts.
- 6082 alloy, heat treatable and general purpose, for frames, brackets, jigs and everyday fabrication work.
Dimensions And Secondary Operations
Outside diameter, wall thickness and length are made to order, with straightness and concentricity held within normal extruded tube tolerances. Common secondary operations include cutting to length, deburring, chamfering, drilling, tapping, bending and welding, so the tube can arrive ready for assembly instead of as raw stock.
Surface Finish Options
Tubes can be supplied with a mill finish for further processing, or with anodized, powder coated or painted surfaces where appearance and extra surface protection are needed. Anodizing is applied in clear or dyed colours, and film thickness is agreed with the customer before production.
