European Standard 5050 Aluminum Extrusion Profile
The European standard 5050 aluminum extrusion profile is a 50 x 50 mm T-slot structural section built for modular framing systems. Its uniform slot accepts standard T-nuts, corner brackets, hinges and end caps, so a frame can be assembled, adjusted or extended without welding. The symmetric cross-section keeps the profile straight and easy to align, which makes it a practical building block for machine guards, workbenches, enclosures and automation fixtures.
Material and Surface Finish
Each 5050 profile is extruded from heat-treatable 6063 aluminum alloy, a grade selected for the balance of strength, light weight and clean extrusion surface it offers structural sections. The profile is then anodized to leave a smooth silver finish that resists corrosion, fingerprints and light scratches. A natural mill finish and a standard anodized finish are both available, so the same section suits indoor equipment as well as light outdoor frames. Aluminum keeps the assembled frame light enough to move while remaining rigid under normal working loads.
Slot Geometry and Assembly
The T-slot runs continuously along the length of the profile, allowing brackets and fasteners to be positioned at any point rather than at fixed holes. Standard T-nuts slide into the slot and lock when tightened, which keeps the outer face flush and free of protruding heads. This makes later changes simple: panels, doors, shelves and cable guides can be added, moved or removed with basic hand tools. Cut lengths, machined ends and drilled holes are available so the profile can be supplied ready to assemble.
