Material and Welded Ends

7001 aluminium alloy is used here because it combines low density with high mechanical strength, which matters for a part handled every time a tent or an awning is put up. The welded end forms a smooth tip, so the pole slides through fabric channels without snagging and no sharp edge is left exposed. The section stays straight along its length, so several poles can be aligned into one continuous run for a taller frame.
