230 cm Telescoping Tarp Pole, Strong Adjustable Tent Pole
This telescoping tarp pole reaches 230 cm and is built as a strong adjustable tent pole. The sections nest for carrying, then slide out and lock to hold a tarpaulin or shelter cover off the ground.
Where it is used
A telescoping tarp pole is normally used in pairs or fours to lift a tarp into a shelter shape: one at each corner of a lean-to, along the ridge of a dining fly, or under an awning to stop water pooling. Because a telescoping tarp pole packs down inside its own sections, the same pole suits car camping, market stalls, garden shade, festival shelters and equipment covers where a fixed pole is awkward to transport.
How to choose
Height: decide the working height first. This pole is made to 230 cm, so if your shelter sits lower cut it down rather than ordering short, and if it must reach higher say so on the order.
Section count and nesting: fewer sections give a stiffer pole for the weight; more sections give a shorter pack. Check that the bottom section is still thick enough to take the load once the pole is fully extended.
Lock type: an adjustable tent pole relies on its lock staying put. Tell us whether the lock is a twist grip, a pin or a cam, and how much downward force the shelter puts on it.
Load: state the weight of the cover the telescoping tarp pole has to hold, including the water that collects in a sag, because that is usually the real load.
Base and top: say whether the ends need a ground spike, a flat foot, a rubber cap or a threaded fitting for an eyelet strap.
Finish: anodizing is the usual finish, and it also keeps the sliding surfaces from binding.
