The LED strip channel extrusion is a recessed aluminium profile for ceiling and drywall lighting. It is designed to sit within a plasterboard surface so that LED strip lighting appears built into the ceiling, with the channel carrying and protecting the strip while a diffuser softens the light into an even glow.
The profile is formed from 6000-series aluminium alloy, a family chosen for extrusion work because it combines moderate strength with a clean finish and good machinability. The aluminium body also helps draw heat away from the LED strip, which supports steady, comfortable operation of the lighting over long periods.
As a recessed drywall profile, the section is intended to be set into plasterboard so that the light source is only visible through the narrow opening of the channel. This detail gives a tidy, architectural look for ceilings, coves and feature lines, and it keeps the strip itself out of view.
The extrusion is suited to cutting and welding, so lengths can be prepared for straight runs and joined where a longer continuous line of light is needed. Aluminium cuts and welds cleanly with the right technique, and the profile can be worked to follow the layout of the ceiling or wall it is fitted into.
Because the application is lighting, the channel works together with a diffuser and end caps to complete the installation. The diffuser spreads the light from the strip, softening points and reducing glare, while the ends are closed to give the run a finished appearance. A waterproof version is offered for locations where moisture may be present.
Typical uses include recessed ceiling lighting, cove and perimeter lighting, drywall feature lines and built-in lighting for residential, retail and commercial interiors. In each case the aim is a discreet, even light with the LED strip hidden inside the profile.
Section, diffuser and finish are confirmed against the layout and lighting requirement for each order, so the channel matches the strip, the ceiling detail and the appearance of the finished room. Storage and handling follow normal aluminium practice, keeping the extrusion dry and protected from impact to preserve the finish and the diffuser surface.
Installation is usually planned around the ceiling layout, with the recessed profile set into the plasterboard so that only a narrow opening remains visible. The LED strip is fitted inside and the diffuser is clipped over it, keeping the light source protected and out of sight while producing an even line of light. Because aluminium is light and dimensionally stable, the channel is straightforward to position and a run can follow the shape of the room.
