Aluminum Extruded Profile for Window and LED Frames
This extruded aluminum profile is produced by hot extrusion of 6000 series aluminum alloy, for window and door framing and for LED strip housings that need a straight, dimensionally stable channel. Because the section is extruded rather than roll formed, wall thickness and corner radii stay consistent along the full length, so glazing beads and LED covers stay aligned during assembly.
Each order is extruded to the customer drawing. Die design, billet selection and extrusion ratio are agreed before production, so the finished section matches the requested outside dimensions, wall thickness and visible corner detail.
Alloy and Temper
6000 series aluminum, a magnesium silicon alloy, combines moderate strength with good extrudability and weldability, and is the standard grade for architectural and LED profiles. Tempers from T3 to T8 are available, with T5 and T6 the most common. The grade and temper are chosen according to the structural duty of the part, since a window mullion carrying glass load needs a higher temper than a decorative channel.
Surface Finishes and Colour
Anodizing builds a controlled oxide layer and is the usual choice for profiles exposed to weather; film thickness, sealing and colour are fixed when the order is placed. Powder coating offers a wider colour range with good resistance to chalking, while mill finish, polished and sand blasted surfaces suit parts that will be painted later. Silver is the most requested colour, with red, yellow, green and other shades produced to order.
Fabrication and Tolerance
Sections can be supplied straight or further processed by bending, decoiling, welding, punching, drilling and cutting. Standard dimensional tolerance is about plus or minus ten percent on wall thickness, with tighter values available for mating parts. Length tolerance is set by the cutting fixture and confirmed on a sample before the run. Billets, extruded sections and finished parts are inspected at each stage, and ISO, CE or SGS certificates can be supplied where documented compliance is required.
Applications
Typical uses include window and door frames, glazing beads, LED strip channels, heat sinks, decorative trim, furniture frames, bicycle frames and tent poles. For a new assembly, buyers normally send a drawing or sample so the die can be produced and a trial section approved before mass production.
Ordering Information
Orders start from one to two hundred kilograms, with larger tonnages quoted separately. Lead time is generally thirty one to forty five days after drawing approval. Customized logo, packaging and graphic customization are offered from one thousand sets. Shipment is by sea freight from Jiangsu, China.
