This extruded aluminium round tubing is produced as a drawn 6-series aluminium profile and supplied with an anodized surface. It is made to order in custom outside diameters and wall thicknesses, so a bicycle rack, cargo frame or carrier builder can specify the exact tube the design calls for instead of cutting a stock size down to fit.
The tube is extruded, straightened and cut to the requested length. Because the wall is uniform around the full circumference, the tube bends and welds predictably on a jig, which is why it suits welded rack frames and carrier structures.
